Sweden's Inflation Rate Declines in June
Official data released on Wednesday showed a decline in Sweden's consumer price index during the past month of June.
The consumer price index rose 0.7% year-on-year in June, after a 0.8% increase in May, which had been the highest reading in seven months.
The decline is largely due to the continued decrease in prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which fell 6.8% compared to the previous year, while clothing and footwear prices dropped 2.3%, according to the German news agency dpa.
The annual growth rate of transport costs fell to 3.5% in June from 6% in May, while housing and services prices rose from 2.6% to 4%.
Consumer prices in Sweden rose 0.4% month-on-month in June, after a 1% increase in May.
