Jeddah, Safar 08, 1448 AH corresponding to July 22, 2026, SPA – Saudi Airlines and Garuda Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding to explore opportunities for developing a strategic commercial partnership between the two carriers, extending their existing cooperation through codeshare agreements and their membership in the global SkyTeam alliance, which contributes to expanding connectivity between their networks and enhances travel options for guests. The memorandum was signed in the presence of His Excellency the Director General of Saudi Group, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Omar, and Deputy President Executive of Garuda Indonesia, Thomas Sugiarto Oentoro, and was signed on behalf of Saudi Airlines by the Senior Vice President of Commercial Affairs, Arvid Mohlen, and on behalf of Garuda Indonesia by the Head of Transformation Management, Neil Mills. The memorandum aims to explore opportunities for developing a commercial partnership between the two carriers, allowing guests to travel across their networks with a single ticket, linking Garuda Indonesia’s network in Indonesia and Australia with Saudi Arabia’s network of destinations in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, and providing broader access to destinations served by the two carriers. It includes exploring cooperation opportunities in a number of strategic areas, including coordinating network planning and flight schedules between the Kingdom and Indonesia, as well as cooperation in sales, marketing, and distribution in markets of common interest, in addition to opportunities for enhancing the guest experience through greater integration in several operational aspects, including coordination in relevant airport facilities, developing loyalty programs and technical infrastructure, as well as developing services provided to guests of the Umrah and Hajj seasons between Indonesia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This memorandum embodies the commitment of Saudi Airlines and Garuda Indonesia to strengthen their strategic cooperation and expand connectivity between their networks, supporting the growth of air traffic between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Indonesia and enhancing connectivity with regional and global markets. // End //18:10 T M 0166
