The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has enabled the renewal and cancellation of commercial licenses electronically via the 'Baladi' platform without the need to visit its offices. The step aims to facilitate procedures for business owners and enhance the business environment in line with digital transformation.

The official spokesperson of the ministry, Mohammed Al-Rasasima, explained that the service enables beneficiaries to complete renewal and payment electronically. He pointed out that access to the platform is via the Unified National Access to save investors' time and effort.

Al-Rasasima stated that the most prominent renewal requirements include proof of the right to benefit from the location via a registered lease contract or property deed. He added that it is necessary to meet the requirements of the 'Salama' platform of the Civil Defense according to the nature of the commercial activity. He pointed out the possibility of renewing the license up to 90 days before its expiry. He affirmed the possibility of renewing expired licenses according to regulations, with the need for the commercial register to be valid to complete the procedures successfully. Al-Rasasima mentioned that the 'Baladi' platform also offers the service of canceling licenses electronically when the commercial activity ceases. He called on business owners to benefit from these digital enablers to ensure the continuity of their business with ease and convenience.
