US stock indexes close higher

New York, June 30 (QNA) - The main indexes on the US Wall Street stock exchange closed higher at the end of today's trading.

The S&P 500 index rose at the close by 55.97 points, or 0.75%, to reach 7,498.38 points, while the Nasdaq Composite index gained 374.62 points, or 1.45%, to reach 26,194.76 points.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 116.17 points, or 0.22%, to reach 52,298.91 points at the close.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite indexes ended the second quarter of the year with the largest quarterly gains since 2020, as investor optimism about economic growth and profit growth continued despite the Middle East war.
