Bayoumi Fouad: The comedy in "Who's Son Are They?" is based on situations
Over more than a decade, artist Bayoumi Fouad has established himself as one of the most prominent and influential actors in Egyptian cinema and drama. Bayoumi did not rely on lead roles or traditional parts to build his stardom; instead, he forged his own path through diverse characters, moving seamlessly between comedy, tragedy, and social roles, becoming one of the artists capable of capturing the audience's attention regardless of his screen time.
Bayoumi Fouad is distinguished by his ability to give each character its own imprint, always seeking out small details that make the character more relatable to the audience and more truthful on a human level. Among dozens of works he has participated in recent years, he has remained keen on embarking on new experiences that take him out of the cycle of repetition and give him a chance to explore different areas of performance.

Special preparation for the character
In his latest cinematic work, Bayoumi Fouad stars in the film "Who's Son Are They?" alongside actress Leila Elwi, a project that blends comedy and human situations in a framework full of contradictions. Through it, he portrays a character with many details and challenges that required him to handle it differently. In an interview with Al Arabiya.net, Bayoumi spoke about his participation in the film.
Artist Bayoumi Fouad said that the character of Roshdy, which he plays in "Who's Son Are They?", required special preparation from the early stages of the work. He explained that he tried to imagine the character's life, daily details, and way of thinking before standing in front of the camera, in order to present it in a convincing and distinct manner.
He explained that he suggested to director Hisham Fathi a number of changes to the character's external appearance, noting that he was keen to avoid any look he had previously appeared in other works, so that the viewer would feel they are seeing a new character with its own features.
He added that the biggest challenge was not only in the appearance but in understanding the character's motivations, especially since Roshdy is a man who has gone through several experiences and relationships in his life, which required researching his thought process and how he interacts with those around him, so that his actions appear logical and justified within the dramatic context of events.

Comedy of situations and contradictions
He pointed out that what attracted him most to the film was the nature of the comedy it offers, stressing that the work does not rely on punchlines or direct jokes as much as it relies on situations and contradictions that the characters find themselves in, a type he personally prefers because it gives the actor more space for performance and makes laughter come from the situation itself.
He also expressed his happiness at renewing his collaboration with artist Leila Elwi, affirming that working with her always brings a great deal of comfort and understanding, and that the artistic chemistry between them has become evident to the audience after more than one joint venture that achieved notable success.
He added that the shooting atmosphere was marked by harmony among all crew members, which ultimately reflected on screen, noting that the presence of a group of artists with different experiences contributed to creating a sense of diversity within the film.
