The Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts in Jazan, in cooperation with the House of Culture, organized a cultural meeting this evening titled 'The Journey of Performing Arts between Mountain, Tihama, and Sea,' with the participation of a number of those interested in cultural and heritage affairs.

The participants explained that the meeting discussed the features of performing arts in the Jazan region, showcasing their diversity between mountain, Tihama, and sea, and the cultural and historical richness they reflect, which is linked to the diversity of natural environments in the region and contributed to shaping a unique cultural identity.

The speakers noted that the meeting introduced the characteristics of a number of local performing arts and their social and national connotations that reflect the authenticity and diversity of the local heritage.

The role of performing arts in preserving heritage

In the same context, the interventions highlighted the historical and social dimensions of performing arts and their role in preserving the cultural heritage and enhancing awareness of its importance as part of the societal memory and national identity.

The participants added that the meeting reviewed the efforts made to document performing arts and transmit them to generations, and the importance of cultural initiatives in preserving this legacy, thereby contributing to preserving, highlighting, and enhancing the presence of national heritage elements in the Saudi cultural scene.
