Disney reveals behind-the-scenes of dubbing the film 'Toy Story' into the Egyptian dialect
(CNN)--Disney has revealed the behind-the-scenes of recording the fifth part of the film 'Toy Story' dubbed into the Egyptian dialect, coinciding with the film's screening in cinemas in many Arab countries.
A video clip from the dubbing behind-the-scenes was published on the official Instagram account of Disney Middle East on Friday, with the caption: "The toys are back... and what happens behind the scenes is no less exciting than the story itself."

The voice actors included: Tarek Ismail as Woody, Diaa Abdelkhaliq as Buzz, Norhan Hafez as Jessie, Lily Firas as Bonnie, Adel Raafat as Zaki Bants, Noha Qais as Laqta, Abdullah Saad as Atlas, Rami Al-Tambari as the wrestler Carl, and actress Rahma Ahmed played the role of Leila Bad, the tablet computer around which the events of the fifth part of 'Toy Story' revolve, under the direction of director Ahmed Mokhtar and sound engineer Mohamed Farouk.
In a statement about the dubbing behind-the-scenes, Mokhtar confirmed that 'work was done on the dubbing in the colloquial version first and sent to Disney, while work was simultaneously underway on the Arabic version. Work on both versions took 40 days, with modifications requested by the production company implemented directly on both versions, until they were released under the name 'Toy Story 5', about 20 days per version.'
Regarding how work is done on the dubbed versions, Mokhtar pointed out that 'usually, the American version is listened to, then the Arabic version is presented for each scene with the same spirit and feeling, by living the same moment that the American actor performs, under the supervision of the director leading the work, while the sound engineer ensures that all details are appropriate in terms of sound quality and timing.'
Meanwhile, the voice cast for the American version of the film included: Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Blake Clark as Slinky Dog, Tony Hale as Forky, Wallace Shawn as Rex, John Ratzenberger as Hamm, along with new members such as Scarlett Sperrs as Bonnie and Greta Lee as Lily Pad. After the deaths of some original voice actors, such as Don Rickles and Estelle Harris, new actors were brought in to play the roles of Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, under the direction of director Andrew Stanton, with participation from McKenna Harris.
