"Dubai Millennium".. A Record Full of Achievements and a Legendary Record
Dubai, March 22 / WAM / Over the past editions of the Dubai World Cup, "the world's richest horse race," and with the participation of the world's best horses, no horse has been able to break the record set in the main race by the legendary "Dubai Millennium" of 1:59.50 minutes, which he achieved in the fifth edition of the Dubai World Cup in 2000. No other horse has managed to break it in 21 years.
The ownership of "Dubai Millennium" belongs to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai (may God protect him), who described it as the best horse he has ever owned.
This attractive colt aroused admiration from an early stage in his life. His original name was "Yazer," meaning "white gazelle," and he received his current legendary name after His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum discovered him as one of the most promising young horses among his peers at that age, if not ever.
"Dubai Millennium," who was born at Dalham Hall Stud in 1996, succeeded in achieving a record time in the main race of the Dubai World Cup in 2000 of 1:59.50 minutes, and since then no other colt has been able to break this record.
Although "Dubai Millennium" started from a wide gate, he quickly positioned himself at the front of the horses on the inside rail, and continued his progress. When he reached the finish line, he was six lengths ahead of his nearest rival.
On that day, he achieved a record time for the Nad Al Sheba track that still stands today. It is noteworthy that Dubai Millennium has a record full of victories, winning 9 races out of 10 starts.
Dubai Millennium was crowned "Horse of the Year in the UAE," received a high rating from the Timeform organization, and topped the international classifications in 2000 with a rating of 134 pounds.
"Dubai Millennium" carries rare bloodlines descending from the two best sires in the history of thoroughbred horse racing through Northern Dancer on the dam's side and Raise a Native on the sire's side. His grandmother, Fall Aspen, was crowned the best broodmare in America.
