Egyptian artist Mounir Makram officially submitted his resignation from the board of the Actors' Syndicate in Egypt to its head, Dr. Ashraf Zaki, following a severe dispute between him and security personnel at the syndicate's club in Giza.

A source close to Mounir Makram revealed to Al-Arabiya.net that the famous artist, who regularly visits the Actors Club located on the Nile Corniche in Al-Bahr Al-Azam Street, engaged in a heated verbal altercation with some of the club's security guards while accompanied by his eldest son, objecting to their manner and behavior.

The source added that the dispute quickly escalated, involving sharp verbal exchanges, prompting several members present at the club to intervene to calm the situation and contain it. The source noted that the crisis escalated after the security guards decided to submit an official memo to artist Aida Fahmy, the club's president, who in turn notified Syndicate Head Ashraf Zaki of all the details of the incident.

The source added that following a quick and immediate investigation into the circumstances of the crisis, artist Ashraf Zaki moved to call for an emergency general assembly to vote on a no-confidence motion against artist Mounir Makram.

The latter responded by taking the initiative and submitting his handwritten resignation to the head of the actors' syndicate, stressing that Makram has not yet received an official response to his resignation, amid expectations that he will be notified of developments and the syndicate's final decision within the next few hours.

It is worth noting that artist Mounir Makram, 64, graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University in 1984 and began his artistic career as an assistant director in theater and television.

He participated in directing the series "Darb Askar" and gained widespread fame in Egypt through the famous hidden camera program "Edini Aqlak," which aired successfully for over 8 years.

He also participated in prominent dramatic and cinematic works, including the series: "Lan A'ish fi Gilbab Abi," "Al-Daw' al-Sharid," "Om Kalthoum," "Hadret al-Muttaham Abi," and "Hakim Basha," in addition to films such as "The Yacoubian Building," "Dam al-Ghazal," and "Tabakh al-Rais," as well as his participation in the famous theatrical play "King Lear" opposite star Yehia El-Fakharany.
