In a swift turn of the crisis that shook the corridors of the Actors' Syndicate in Egypt, the syndicate head Ashraf Zaki retracted his earlier decision to call for an emergency general assembly to vote on a no-confidence motion against artist Mounir Makram, a member of the syndicate's board of directors.

For his part, artist Mounir Makram offered a public apology before the attendees at the celebration, expressing his great appreciation for Ashraf Zaki, and affirming that what happened was an unintentional mistake, hoping to always remain worthy of the trust of his fellow members of the general assembly.

The background of the crisis goes back to a verbal altercation that occurred on the Nile Corniche in Al-Bahr Al-Azam Street between Mounir Makram and the club's security personnel while he was accompanied by his eldest son, objecting to the way they were treated.

The altercation escalated, prompting the security personnel to submit an official memo to artist Aida Fahmy, the club's president, who in turn forwarded it to the syndicate head. Following an immediate investigation, Zaki opted for a no-confidence vote, which prompted Makram to preempt the decision and submit his handwritten resignation before the latest reconciliation efforts succeeded in closing the file just before the official decision on the resignation.

It is noteworthy that artist Mounir Makram (64 years old) graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University in 1984, and began his artistic career as an assistant director in theater and television.

Makram gained wide public fame through the famous hidden camera program "Edini A'lak" which ran for more than 8 years, along with a rich dramatic and cinematic career that included prominent works such as "Lan A'ish Fi Gilbab Abi", "Al-Daw' al-Shard", "Omaret Yakobean", and the play "Al-Malik Lear" opposite star Yehia El-Fakharany.
