Elite Visual Artists Participate in the 'Open Studio' at JAX District in Diriyah

The Visual Arts Commission organizes the 'Open Studio' event at Studio I08 in JAX District, Diriyah, as part of the 'Liqa' Residency Program, with participation from elite visual artists from inside and outside the Kingdom, in an interactive artistic experience with the audience.

The event, held from July 28 to 30, embodies an opportunity to share the outputs of these experiences with the public, providing space for direct dialogues that highlight the ideas, visions, and practices that shaped them. It also allows the public to tour the studios, learn about the works developed during the residency, and interact with the artists and the curator through a public program featuring presentations, workshops, discussions, and dialogues. The event is organized at the conclusion of the second edition of the 'Liqa' Residency Program, which lasted 3 months in Riyadh, with participation from 14 male and female artists from inside and outside the Kingdom, in a creative journey characterized by research, experimentation, exchange of knowledge and expertise, and the development of new artistic projects exploring diverse practices and disciplines.

The program saw contributions from the Diriyah Center for Future Arts, the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wirth), the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah), the King Fahd National Library, and the National Museum, enriching the experience of participating artists and enhancing the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
