(CNN)-- Chanel presented its haute couture collection for fall/winter 2026-2027 at the Grand Palais in Paris, the second show by designer Matthieu Blazy since taking over the creative direction of the house, where he continued to shape a new phase blending Chanel's heritage with bolder contemporary imagination.

But what caught the eye in this collection was not only the luxurious designs, but the unusual details that transformed the show into a world inspired by fairy tales, where haute couture met stories and legends.

Blazy drew inspiration for the show's atmosphere from the world of fairy tales, transforming the Grand Palais hall into a magical and mysterious garden where natural elements intertwined with fantasy, from twisted giant plant stems and oversized flowers to a scene resembling enchanted forests and pages from old storybooks.

Accessories stood out as one of the most strange strengths of the collection, transforming from mere complementary elements into pieces carrying their own narratives. Hats inspired by bird nests appeared, along with shoes inspired by the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk', as well as small evening bags shaped like bears and others inspired by beans.

Even the small details carried the spirit of the tale, as buttons were decorated with symbols such as swans, bears, chairs, and cats, an addition that gave the designs a childlike and narrative character within the world of haute couture.

Despite this fantastical world, the collection maintained Chanel's core codes, as Blazy reintroduced the famous tweed suits with more dramatic cuts, with wide openings, along with rich botanical embroideries evoking enchanted forest atmospheres.

Details of feathers, oversized collars, capes, and wings also appeared, in addition to lace and fine embroideries, within a color palette ranging from ivory, black, cream, moss green, and quiet earthy tones.

The show was attended by a number of prominent names in the worlds of art and fashion, including American actress and singer Teyana Taylor, who chose a complete denim look including a shirt, trousers, shoes, and a bag made of jeans fabric.

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif also attended in a classic look consisting of a burgundy shirt and gray trousers, while Scottish actress Tilda Swinton chose a multi-colored check shirt dress.

As for Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong'o, she caught attention in a sleeveless black and white dress, adorned with round beads and soft ruffled details at the neckline.
