(CNN)-- Latifa al-Daroubi, wife of Syrian transitional president Ahmad al-Shara', appeared again on Friday evening as they welcomed a number of Syrian women working in health, education, and community activities in the United States at the People's Palace in Damascus.
The meeting discussed the role of Syrian women in the reconstruction and rebuilding phase, and enhancing their presence as an active partner in various sectors, according to the official Syrian news agency SANA.

The meeting also discussed ways to support the educational process and develop systems and curricula, contributing to preparing a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve the development and reform path.
SANA published photos from the meeting of al-Shara' and his wife Latifa al-Daroubi, and of her shaking hands with the attending women.

Latifa al-Daroubi had appeared in videos during the opening ceremony of the Damascus International Book Fair, which was attended by interim Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara' in June.
