Taif solidifies its position as an attractive summer destination through an integrated tourism experience
Taif 01 Safar 1448 AH corresponding to July 15, 2026 SPA - Tourist destinations are no longer measured solely by their natural assets, but by their ability to create an integrated experience that leaves a positive psychological impact on the visitor. This is the focus of 'tourism psychology', which studies tourist motivations, behavior, impressions, and the mechanisms for building a satisfying tourism experience that encourages repeat visits and contributes to forming a positive mental image of the destination, as one of the modern concepts supporting the development of the tourism sector. Taif Governorate stands out as a model for this concept, with its wealth of natural, cultural, and heritage assets, including the Shafa and Hada highlands, valleys and parks, resorts and rural inns, Taif rose farms, traditional markets and villages, along with its moderate climate that makes the tourism experience a journey combining relaxation, heritage discovery, and interaction with the local environment. Dr. Subhi Saeed Al-Harithi, a professor of graduate studies at Umm Al-Qura University, told SPA that tourism psychology is concerned with studying tourist behavior before, during, and after the trip to understand their needs, expectations, and the factors influencing their decisions. He explained that the success of tourist destinations is no longer linked only to the beauty of the place, but also to the quality of services, ease of access, good reception, efficiency of tourist guidance, and attention to details that create a positive impression that encourages the visitor to repeat the experience and share it with others. He added that Taif possesses elements that make it one of the most prominent applied models for the concepts of tourism psychology, as its natural and cultural elements meet the psychological, social, and cultural needs of the visitor. The mountainous nature, valleys, and green spaces provide a sense of calm and relaxation, while rural inns, farms, traditional markets, and heritage events enhance interaction with local identity and enrich the tourism experience with diverse cultural and human content. Al-Harithi pointed out that the positive tourist behavior of the local community is one of the most important elements of the success of tourist destinations, by instilling values of hospitality, respect for visitors, and professional service delivery, emphasizing that the integration of these elements reflects on the quality of the tourism experience and enhances Taif's competitiveness. // End // 19:13 T M 0148
