Abu Dhabi, September 6 /WAM/ The Academy of Poetry at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority announced today the start of registration for the 17th academic season 2024/2025 (Nabati Poetry and its Sciences), which continues until September 15. The study will be conducted using blended learning (in-person and virtual).

The 17th academic season aims to prepare participants to deal effectively and efficiently with poetic and literary heritage amidst global developments, preserving the heritage of the homeland and ancestors. It also aims to enable them to write poetry in its various meters and rhythms, develop their analytical criticism and literary appreciation tools by equipping students with research and analysis skills, and expose them to well-known and influential poetic experiences. Additionally, it prepares them to use technology effectively in research and preparing various research studies.

The study program includes tracks related to meters, rhythms, and rhyme, as well as artistic structure and the art of recitation in Nabati poetry (applied study), in addition to the field of criticism and research (theoretical study).

The program targets poets of various experiences and expertise, as well as anyone wishing to develop their poetic skills, in addition to critics and researchers in Nabati poetry.

The tracks include a range of subjects: Introduction to Classical Poetry (general and UAE-specific), Introduction to Popular Culture, Meters and Rhythms of Nabati Poetry, Rhyme, Artistic Structure of the Nabati Poem, Building the Poetic Image, Tradition and Renewal, Poetic Correspondences between Poets, the Art of Poetic Recitation, Criticism in the Emirati Poem, Collecting Poetry from its Original Sources, and Media and Nabati Poetry.

It is worth noting that the Academy of Poetry offers a comprehensive program for studying Nabati poetry and its sciences, working to develop poetic tools and knowledge, and qualifying poets capable of writing poems.
