The Saudi Red Crescent Authority has recently launched a new fleet of ambulances equipped with the latest medical devices and technologies, as part of its efforts to enhance the quality of pre-hospital emergency care and increase the readiness of field teams to deal with various emergency cases.
Ambulance and Emergency Medicine Specialist at the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, Khaled Al-Qahtani, said in a press statement that the new fleet includes a number of modern devices, most notably the automated chest compression device, which provides consistent chest compressions according to international standards and ensures continuity of CPR during patient transport, allowing the ambulance team to focus on other treatment procedures. It also includes a video laryngoscope that helps visualize the airway clearly and increases the success rate of securing it, especially in critical or difficult cases, in addition to a ventilator that provides advanced respiratory support for patients suffering from respiratory failure or arrest, with the ability to adjust its settings according to the patient's condition.
Al-Qahtani also pointed out that the ambulances have been equipped with a modern hydraulic stretcher that helps transport patients safely and smoothly, reduces physical strain on ambulance teams, and enhances patient safety during transport.
