"King Saud University Medical City".. Distinguished Presence and Advanced Rankings

King Saud University Medical City has achieved a new milestone solidifying its academic, research, and medical standing, following a distinguished presence in the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2026, topping several medical specialties at the national level and securing advanced ranks Arab, regional, and globally, reflecting the quality of its research output and excellence of its health and educational services.

The Medical City ranked first nationally in Otorhinolaryngology, and came second in the Arab world and eighth in the Middle East.

For the first time, it achieved first place nationally and in the Arab world in Psychology, while ranking second in the Middle East, an achievement reflecting the qualitative development this specialty is witnessing.

In Pediatrics, Perinatology and Child Health, the Medical City ranked third nationally, eighth in the Arab world, and nineteenth in the Middle East; while in Surgery, it ranked third nationally, tenth in the Arab world, and twenty-first in the Middle East.

It ranked third nationally in Ophthalmology, advancing to sixth in the Arab world and nineteenth in the Middle East.

The Medical City recorded a new achievement by entering the Dentistry ranking for the first time, achieving sixth place nationally, eighth in the Arab world, and twelfth in the Middle East.

In other rankings, the Medical City ranked second nationally in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Agricultural and Biological Sciences, and Environmental Sciences, and achieved second place in the Arab world in these specialties. It secured third place in the Middle East in Agricultural and Biological Sciences and Environmental Sciences, eleventh in Cardiology, and twelfth in Gastroenterology.

This achievement reflects the advanced standing that King Saud University Medical City has reached at the national, regional, and international levels, and confirms the success of its strategy in supporting scientific research, clinical excellence, innovation, and developing medical competencies, contributing to enhancing the Kingdom's global competitiveness and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in the health and education sectors.
