Gaza, July 19 (QNA) - 86 Palestinians, including patients and companions, left the Gaza Strip today via the Rafah land crossing as part of a medical evacuation to receive treatment and healthcare outside the Strip.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that the operation included 31 patients and 55 companions, totaling 86 people, as part of coordination efforts led by the World Health Organization.

The society explained that its teams transported the patients and their companions by ambulance from the society's Al-Mawasi field hospital to the Rafah crossing, ahead of their travel abroad for treatment.

It confirmed that its participation in this operation is part of its humanitarian role, especially amid the deteriorating health conditions and severe pressure on the medical system in the Gaza Strip.

The occupation authorities had partially reopened the Rafah crossing in early February 2026, allowing the exit of patients and wounded and the return of some Palestinians, under Israeli security conditions and procedures, as part of the arrangements for the second phase of the ceasefire agreement that went into effect in October 2025.
