The Health Affairs of the Ministry of National Guard succeeded in performing the first remote robotic surgery (Telesurgery) in the Kingdom, for a patient at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah, using a surgical robot controlled by a medical team from King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, an achievement that embodies the integration between the two surgical teams in the departments of kidney and urinary tract surgery in the two cities.

The operation was performed using the KANGDUO - SageBot platform, where the surgical team in Riyadh managed the operation with high precision for a patient in Jeddah, benefiting from robotic surgery technologies and advanced communication systems.

This achievement represents a qualitative leap in employing remote robotic surgery technologies within the Kingdom, and reflects the level of integration among the health affairs facilities of the Ministry of National Guard, which contributes to enhancing the quality and efficiency of healthcare, and opens future prospects for performing specialized surgeries between cities without the need to transfer patients.
