King Saud University Medical City achieved a new milestone that cements its academic and research standing, after recording a distinguished presence in the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2026, topping a number of medical specialties at the national level and achieving advanced positions regionally and globally.

Otolaryngology and Psychology: National and Arab distinction

The medical city ranked first in the Kingdom in Otolaryngology, second in the Arab world, and eighth in the Middle East. For the first time, it ranked first in the Kingdom and the Arab world in Psychology, while ranking second in the Middle East, an achievement reflecting the qualitative development in this specialty.

Pediatrics, Surgery, and Ophthalmology

In Pediatrics, Perinatology and Child Health, the medical city ranked third in the Kingdom, eighth in the Arab world, and nineteenth in the Middle East. It ranked third in the Kingdom, tenth in the Arab world, and twenty-first in the Middle East in Surgery, while ranking third in the Kingdom, sixth in the Arab world, and nineteenth in the Middle East in Ophthalmology.

Dentistry: First entry into the ranking

The medical city recorded a new achievement by entering the SCImago ranking for the first time in Dentistry, ranking sixth in the Kingdom, eighth in the Arab world, and twelfth in the Middle East.

Other specialties in advanced positions

The medical city ranked second in the Kingdom in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Agricultural and Biological Sciences, and Environmental Sciences, and also ranked second in the Arab world in all these specialties. In the Middle East, it ranked third in Agricultural and Biological Sciences and Environmental Sciences, eleventh in Cardiology, and twelfth in Gastroenterology.
