The Veterinary Council for Poultry reviewed the results of the comprehensive survey of avian influenza in the Kingdom's projects during its first meeting of 2026 in Riyadh, to discuss the latest epidemiological situation and enhance the sector's readiness to confront diseases.

The Council, organized by the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases (Weqaa), discussed the list of countries allowed to import live birds from. The attendees were briefed on the results of monitoring random poultry breeding and the mechanisms for addressing it to improve the efficiency of the sector.

These steps aim to limit antimicrobial resistance and improve health and production levels.
