The Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation saved the lives of 12 patients, including four children, by performing five organ retrieval and transplant surgeries from brain-dead donors last week, in coordination with local and Gulf hospitals.

The center explained that the medical interventions included two heart transplants, two liver transplants, two lung transplants, and six kidney transplants, noting that these precise surgical procedures ended the suffering of the beneficiaries from organ failure and continuous dialysis sessions.

The Director General of the Center, Dr. Talal Al-Qoufi, affirmed that the success of the operations was due to the integration between medical teams and the medical evacuation department, saying: 'Organs were distributed according to the highest medical standards to ensure fairness, based on priorities.' Al-Qoufi praised the humanitarian stance of the donors' families and their consent to donate the organs of their brain-dead relatives, noting that this noble decision directly contributed to giving patients a new chance to continue their lives.
