The World Health Organization today issued new guidelines to reduce the risk of cognitive decline and dementia, confirming that up to 45% of cases can be prevented or delayed by modifying risk factors related to lifestyle and chronic diseases.

The organization called for increased physical activity, quitting smoking, following a healthy diet, reducing exposure to air pollution, along with controlling high blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol, and participating in mental and social activities.
