"Rheumatism" Launches First Mobile Clinic for Early Detection of Rheumatic Diseases in Asir

Today, the Rheumatism Association launched the first journey of the mobile clinic for early detection of rheumatic diseases in the Asir region, as part of a health and humanitarian initiative targeting all segments of society, both genders, elderly and children, with the aim of promoting early diagnosis and reducing complications of rheumatic diseases.

The mobile clinic offers a package of free services including accurate diagnosis, clinical examination, and laboratory tests, with the participation of an elite group of consultants and health practitioners in the region, along with an awareness and educational booth aimed at educating visitors about the symptoms of rheumatic diseases, their risks, and ways to deal with them.

The association stated that the campaign continues until July 26 of this month, and in its first phase includes the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, and An-Namas, with plans to later expand to include all regions of the Kingdom.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Hamza Omair, affirmed that early detection of rheumatic diseases is a fundamental step in preventing joint deformities and permanent motor disabilities, pointing out that children are among the groups most in need of early intervention due to the effects these diseases can have on growth and physical future.

He said: 'The presence of an elite group of specialized consultants within this campaign ensures accurate clinical diagnosis and guides patients to early treatment protocols that contribute to controlling the disease in its early stages and improving the quality of life of those affected.'

For his part, the supervisor of the mobile clinic, Salem Al-Radhan, explained that the association has prepared an integrated operational plan to overcome geographical and logistical obstacles, ensuring that the clinic reaches beneficiaries in Abha, Khamis Mushait, and An-Namas with ease and convenience.

He added that the clinics have been equipped with all necessary medical and technical supplies, with coordination of medical and administrative staff schedules to ensure smooth flow of beneficiaries, and to provide an organized diagnostic experience starting from reception and triage, through tests and examinations, to awareness and final guidance at the booth accompanying the clinic.
