"Rheumatism" Launches Mobile Clinic for Early Detection of Rheumatism in Asir
The Rheumatism Association launched the first trip of the mobile clinic for early detection of rheumatic diseases in the Asir region on Wednesday. This humanitarian and health initiative targets all segments of society, both genders (adults and children) in the region, providing an integrated package of free services including accurate diagnosis, clinical examination, and laboratory tests with the participation of a select group of consultants and health practitioners in the region, along with an accompanying awareness and educational booth to guide visitors and educate them about the risks and symptoms of the disease. The campaign runs from July 15 to July 26, covering Abha, Khamis Mushait, and Al-Namas as a first phase, after which it will be applied to all regions of the Kingdom.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Hamza Omaira, emphasized the great importance of this step from the therapeutic medical perspective, saying: 'Proactive detection of rheumatic diseases represents the cornerstone in protecting patients from joint deformities and permanent motor disabilities, especially in children where these diseases may affect their growth and physical future.'
Omaira explained that the presence of elite specialized consultants in this campaign ensures accurate clinical diagnosis and guidance of patients to early treatment protocols that directly contribute to containing the disease in its early stages and improving the quality of life of those affected.
In a related context, the supervisor of the mobile clinic, Mr. Salem Al-Radhan, reviewed the administrative and organizational aspect of the clinic, stating that the association worked on drawing up an integrated operational plan that ensures overcoming all geographical and logistical obstacles so that the mobile clinic can reach its targets in Abha, Khamis Mushait, and Al-Namas with ease and convenience. The clinics have been equipped with all necessary medical and technical supplies, and schedules of medical and administrative staff have been coordinated to ensure the smooth flow of beneficiaries, providing a comfortable and organized diagnostic experience starting from reception and triage, passing through tests, and ending with awareness and final guidance at the booth accompanying the clinic.
