The World Health Organization warned that the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo continues at a rate that exceeds response capacity, despite progress in treatment, testing, and contact tracing.

The organization said that the number of confirmed cases reached 1,926, while the death toll reached 702 as of July 11, marking it as the third largest Ebola outbreak globally, noting that the death of patients in their communities before receiving healthcare is a major concern.
