Al-Baha Mayor Inspects Preparations for 18th International Honey Festival and Murabba' Project Ahead of Summer 2026 Launch
Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Sawat, Mayor of Al-Baha Region and head of the Executive Committee for Al-Baha Summer, inspected the final preparations for the 18th International Honey Festival, ahead of its launch as part of the Al-Baha Summer 2026 activities under the patronage of the region's governor, Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud, during the period from July 26 to August 9, 2026.
During his inspection tour, Dr. Al-Sawat reviewed the festival's facilities and its organizational and service preparations, which include the largest dome in the southern regions with a diameter of over 40 meters and an area exceeding 1,300 m², in addition to 50 indoor pavilions for exhibitors and government and private entities, and 10 outdoor pavilions for seasonal products and processing industries.
He also inspected the Murabba' project, one of the temporary investment projects under Al-Baha Municipality, located near Raghadan Park on an area exceeding 37,000 m². It features integrated infrastructure including electrical services, a high-quality sound system covering the entire site, modern lighting system, open seating areas, restaurants and cafes, handicraft workshops, and murals inspired by the heritage of the Al-Baha region, enhancing the quality of visitors' experience during the summer season.
The tour also included the Productive Families and Artisans Festival organized by the Social Development Bank as part of Al-Baha Summer 2026 activities, accompanied by the bank's director, Sharifa Al-Ghamdi. He reviewed the participation of productive families and artisans in over 80 stalls distributed across targeted governorates, including 15 stalls in Baljurashi Governorate and 8 stalls in Al-Mandaq Governorate.
At the conclusion of the tour, Dr. Al-Sawat launched the 'Safe Food in Every Destination' initiative, which aims to raise awareness of food safety requirements and educate food truck operators on health regulations and food preservation and storage mechanisms, thereby enhancing visitor safety throughout the Al-Baha Summer 2026 activities.
