Al-Haqil Heads Kingdom's Delegation at UN General Assembly on New Urban Agenda
Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Haqil today began a visit to New York City, during which he heads the Kingdom's delegation participating in the high-level United Nations General Assembly meeting on the New Urban Agenda, held at the UN headquarters in New York. The meeting represents the mid-term review of the implementation of the New Urban Agenda.
The Kingdom's participation is part of its active presence in international forums concerned with sustainable development, showcasing its achievements in urban development under the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. This reflects the transformation Saudi cities are undergoing in enhancing the efficiency of urban infrastructure, improving quality of life, developing the urban environment, and building more sustainable cities capable of supporting economic growth.

The minister will participate in the main session and deliver the Kingdom's speech, reviewing the Saudi experience in urban development, the role of cities in supporting sustainable development, and enhancing integration between urban planning, economy, and quality of life, in line with global sustainable development goals. Additionally, he will present the report on progress made in implementing the New Urban Agenda submitted by the Kingdom.
