Al-Qassim Governor Discusses Housing Indicators and Saudization Developments
Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal receives report of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Airport
His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, chaired the meeting of the Executive Committee for Developmental Housing, which was dedicated to following up on the targets and projects of developmental housing, and to assess the level of achievement and accelerate project implementation.
During the meeting, His Highness reviewed the committee's work report, which showed the completion of 123 tasks at 100%, along with reviewing developmental housing indicators in Al-Qassim.
Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal affirmed that developmental housing represents an important developmental path in providing stability and quality of life for the most needy families, stressing the importance of integrating efforts of government entities, the non-profit sector, and donors, and accelerating the addressing of challenges related to projects and services, to ensure that housing solutions reach those entitled to them efficiently and sustainably.
His Highness emphasized the importance of developmental housing projects and enhancing community partnerships that contribute to providing more sustainable housing solutions for the most needy families. The Governor of Al-Qassim Region directed continued work on accelerating projects, addressing service challenges, and raising the level of coordination among relevant entities, stressing the importance of investing all available opportunities and capabilities to provide quality and sustainable housing solutions for beneficiaries of developmental housing in the region. The meeting discussed the status of service connections for a number of developmental housing projects, along with reviewing the status of tripartite agreements with charitable associations. In addition, it followed up on optimal utilization of lands allocated for housing projects and developing partnerships with the third sector and donors.
On another front, the Governor of Al-Qassim, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Saudization, chaired the committee's meeting at his office at the Emirate headquarters, with the participation of a number of officials and representatives of government entities from ministries and authorities, to discuss developments in Saudization programs and review plans of ministries and relevant entities in the field of Saudization and empowering the region's sons and daughters with job opportunities.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness expressed gratitude and appreciation to the wise leadership for the unlimited support that Saudization programs and empowerment of national cadres receive, affirming that this attention has contributed to enhancing the participation of the nation's sons and daughters in the labor market and opening wider career fields in various sectors. He praised the efforts of ministries, authorities, and entities supporting Saudization programs and their efforts in developing job opportunities and raising the participation rates of national competencies in the labor market, noting that the achieved indicators reflect the integration of efforts and effectiveness of implemented programs and initiatives.
Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal said: 'The positive indicators achieved in the region's labor market reflect the support of the wise leadership and the integration of efforts of government entities and the private sector. We will continue to work on enhancing Saudization programs and opening broader horizons for quality job opportunities for the region's sons and daughters.'
His Highness noted the decrease in the unemployment rate in Al-Qassim Region to 5.9% during the first quarter of 2026, job growth of 110%, women's participation in the labor force reaching 47%, and the Saudization rate reaching 80%, stressing the importance of continuing work and building on these indicators to enhance employment and empowerment opportunities in the region.
During the meeting, the Governor of Al-Qassim reviewed the efforts and plans of ministries and relevant entities in Saudization programs, and the initiatives and programs provided by the industry, tourism, health, and human resources sectors to empower national cadres, raise Saudization rates, and provide job opportunities in Al-Qassim Region. His Highness directed the importance of intensifying coordination among entities, continuing to monitor Saudization indicators, and investing in promising opportunities in the region's developmental and economic sectors, to contribute to providing more job opportunities for the sons and daughters of Al-Qassim and enhancing their participation in the national development march.
Separately, Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal received Eng. Ali Masrahi, CEO of the Second Airports Cluster, accompanied by a number of leaders. At the outset of the meeting, His Highness reviewed the annual report of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport for 2025, operational movement, and future plans for developing services and raising performance efficiency. He also reviewed the environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and governance report for the cluster, and the annual report of key performance indicators, and the progress of work in the international travel lounge rehabilitation project.
The Governor of Al-Qassim also received the Level 2 Passenger Experience Accreditation certificate issued by the Airports Council International (ACI), which the airport obtained. His Highness affirmed that this achievement reflects the support and attention that the aviation sector receives from the wise leadership - may God support them - to elevate services provided to travelers and achieve the highest quality standards. The Governor of Al-Qassim had also launched, at the Emirate headquarters, drug harm awareness programs for Hayat Association for Combating Smoking and Drugs in Al-Bada'ia Governorate. Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal reviewed the objectives of the activity and its awareness programs aimed at raising community awareness of the dangers and harms of drugs, enhancing prevention concepts, and contributing to protecting community members, especially the youth, from the effects of this scourge and its risks to the individual, family, and society.
The Governor of Al-Qassim affirmed that combating drugs is a shared national and community responsibility that requires integration of efforts and enhancement of preventive and awareness programs, and reaching their messages to various segments of society, to contribute to protecting the nation's sons and daughters from this dangerous scourge.
His Highness said: 'We appreciate every effort that contributes to raising awareness of the harms of drugs and enhancing prevention, and we affirm the importance of integrating the roles of entities and specialized associations in providing effective awareness programs that immunize society and protect our youth from the dangers of this scourge.'
