Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued on Saturday royal decrees that included changes in a number of government positions, most notably the dismissal of Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar al-Khorayef from his post, and the appointment of Minister of Energy Abdulaziz bin Salman as Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, in addition to his continued service in his current position.

The Saudi Press Agency reported the issuance of several royal decrees, most notably the dismissal of al-Khorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, from his post.

The royal decrees also included the appointment of Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources in addition to his continued service as Minister of Energy.

The royal decrees also included the dismissal of the Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries, Ahmed al-Ohali, from his post.

The decrees stipulated the appointment of Bandar al-Khorayef as Minister of State and member of the Council of Ministers, with him tasked with acting as Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries, in addition to his new duties.

These changes come at a time when the industry and mining sectors, along with the General Authority for Military Industries, have witnessed in recent years an expansion in programs and projects related to economic diversification, localization of industries, and increasing investments, within the framework of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
