The circle of Arab and Islamic condemnations widened regarding statements issued by the Houthi group against the Kingdom, which included accusations concerning the siege of the Yemeni people and threats targeting freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.

Qatar strongly condemned the statements of the military spokesman for the Houthi group, in which he accused the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of imposing a siege on the Yemeni people and banning maritime navigation, affirming its full solidarity with the Kingdom and its support for the measures it takes to preserve its security and sovereignty.

The ministry affirmed that freedom of navigation in international waterways represents a fundamental principle of international law, and is stipulated in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982.

Qatar renewed its full solidarity with the Kingdom, stressing its support for all measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty and security, and affirming that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the State of Qatar and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council states.

Kuwait also strongly condemned the statements issued by the military spokesman for the Houthi militia, which included what it described as 'false' claims against Saudi Arabia, as well as threats targeting the freedom and security of maritime navigation.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that these statements represent an unacceptable escalation, calling on the international community to ensure the full implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 on Yemen and Resolution 2722 concerning the protection of rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.

The ministry affirmed that freedom of navigation in international waterways is a right guaranteed by the rules of international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982, stressing the need to preserve the security and stability of international shipping lanes.

Kuwait renewed its full solidarity with the Kingdom, affirming its support for all measures it takes to protect its security and sovereignty, and stressing that the security of the Kingdom is 'an integral part' of the security of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council states.

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, also condemned the statements issued by the military spokesman for the Houthi group, which included what he described as 'false allegations' against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, considering them an attempt to distort facts and evade the group's responsibility for practices that have deepened the suffering of the Yemeni people and threatened the security and stability of the region.

Al-Budaiwi affirmed in a statement that these 'irresponsible' statements do not change the facts, foremost among them Saudi Arabia's efforts to support the Yemeni people, contribute to enhancing security and stability, advance the political solution path, along with providing humanitarian and relief aid.

He stressed that the security of maritime navigation and freedom of international trade are fundamental pillars for regional and international security and stability, affirming that targeting international waterways is a clear violation of international law, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and relevant Security Council resolutions.

The Secretary-General called on the international community to take a firm stance against what he described as Houthi allegations and threats, and to work on implementing Security Council resolutions to ensure the protection of maritime navigation and prevent any practices that threaten the security of international waterways.

Al-Budaiwi reiterated the GCC's full stand by the Kingdom and its support for all measures it takes to protect its security, sovereignty, and interests.

In the same context, the Muslim World League strongly condemned the Houthi group's statements against Saudi Arabia, considering them 'fabrications' aimed at diverting attention from the group's responsibility for the deteriorating situation in Yemen.
