Madinah Region Mayor Eng. Fahad Al-Balushi affirmed the Kingdom's commitment to the UN Pact for the Future and the systematic integration of local and regional authorities into global frameworks and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

He added during his speech at the High-Level Political Forum 2026 at the UN headquarters in New York: 'We will continue working with our partners, exchanging expertise, and building effective partnerships to accelerate their achievement.'

Al-Balushi pointed out that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 supports the role of regional and city development authorities in localizing the sustainable development goals, noting that Madinah has completed its second local voluntary review as a continuous cycle to monitor indicator trends and adjust evidence-based policies.
