The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture announced the extension of the deadline for obtaining licenses for the use of well water for various purposes by one year, ending on 5 Safar 1449 AH corresponding to July 9, 2027, as part of its efforts to facilitate regulatory procedures and enhance water sustainability.

The Ministry explained that the extension aims to facilitate the procedures for issuing licenses for the use of well water, regulate the use of groundwater, contribute to achieving water sustainability, and ensure the continuity of beneficiaries' activities, thereby enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of water resource management.

The Ministry clarified that the beneficiary categories of the extension decision include individuals, government entities, the business sector, and the non-profit sector, calling on all those covered to take advantage of the deadline and complete the procedures for obtaining licenses within the specified period.

The Ministry emphasized that the extension decision does not include licenses for local agricultural companies and large wheat farmers, nor licenses for water tanker activities and bottled water plants, which are subject to their own regulatory controls and procedures.
