The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture extended the deadline for obtaining licenses to use well water for an additional year, to continue until 5 Safar 1449 AH corresponding to July 9, 2027, as part of its efforts to facilitate regulatory procedures and enhance water sustainability.

The Ministry explained that the extension decision aims to regulate groundwater uses and improve the efficiency of water resource management, stressing that the beneficiary categories include individuals, government entities, the business sector, and the non-profit sector, calling on everyone to complete their procedures within the specified period.

It clarified that the extension decision does not include licenses for local agricultural companies and major wheat farmers, nor water trucking activities and bottled water factories, which are subject to their own controls and procedures.
