Perennial Trees in Najran: A Sustainable Green Oasis Attracts Visitors
Najran, Muharram 22, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 7, 2026, SPA – The lush perennial plants and trees in King Fahd Park in Najran form a green oasis, reflecting the richness and diversity of vegetation, enhancing environmental sustainability, improving the urban landscape, in addition to providing suitable places for visitors and raising the quality of life. The area of King Fahd Park in Najran is estimated at approximately 4 million square meters, and it contains about 35,215 trees of various types, including Sidr, Salam, Ghaf, Athl, Qarad, and Arak, in addition to 850 palm trees. These have contributed to creating a balanced and attractive natural environment for visitors during the summer season, as their effects are reflected in lowering temperatures, improving air quality, combating desertification, reducing pollution, as well as providing a distinctive and suitable atmosphere for picnicking and entertainment, in addition to practicing sports and recreational activities. The trees in the park are characterized by their large size, towering height, lush branches, in addition to their tolerance to climatic conditions, maintaining ecological balance, providing shade, low water needs, providing suitable habitats for various birds, and being well-suited to the local environment. The Najran Region Municipality continues its efforts to preserve and develop the vegetation in the park and increase the green area through implementing ongoing afforestation programs for trees, plants, and green spaces, to provide an attractive environment and a natural haven for visitors and tourists to spend times of relaxation and entertainment under its lush shade. // End // 15:27 PM 0131
