Environment / Ancient Trees in Najran.. A Sustainable Green Oasis Attracting Picnickers

Najran, Muharram 22, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 07, 2026 – SPA – The lush ancient plants and trees in King Fahd Park in Najran form a green oasis, reflecting the richness and diversity of vegetation, enhancing environmental sustainability, improving the urban landscape, as well as providing suitable places for picnickers and improving quality of life. The area of King Fahd Park in Najran is estimated at about (4) million square meters, and it includes about (35,215) various trees of Sidr, Salam, Ghaf, Athl, Qard, and Arak, in addition to (850) palm trees, which contributed to forming a balanced and attractive natural environment for picnickers during the summer season, as their effects were reflected in lowering temperatures, improving air quality, combating desertification, reducing pollution, in addition to creating a distinctive and suitable atmosphere for picnicking and entertainment, as well as engaging in sports and recreational activities. The trees in the park are characterized by their large size, towering height, lush branches, in addition to their tolerance of climatic conditions, maintaining ecological balance, providing shade, low water needs, and providing suitable habitats for various birds, in addition to their suitability for the local environment. The Najran Municipality continues its efforts to preserve and develop the vegetation cover in the park, and increase the green area, by implementing continuous afforestation programs for trees, plants, and green spaces, to provide an attractive environment and a natural haven for picnickers and visitors to spend times of relaxation and entertainment under their lush shade. // End // 15:27 T M 0131
