Jeddah Municipality announced that it conducted a field campaign in the area of Al-Khamrah under the Southern Sub-Municipality, with the participation of relevant authorities, as part of the joint efforts of the committee to prevent the spread of illegal street vendors and beggars.

These campaigns aim to monitor and remove informal vending, reduce violations affecting the urban landscape, and enhance compliance with regulations and instructions.

Field campaigns in Jeddah

The campaign resulted in the seizure and removal of 230 informal stalls, and the confiscation of various quantities of clothing and mixed scrap items.

Meanwhile, about 362 tons of waste were collected and transported to the municipality's landfill, in addition to handing over 14 truckloads to the Southern Sub-Municipality pending delivery to the charity association according to procedures.

Security authorities participating in the campaign dealt with 33 violators among street vendors, taking legal measures against them, as part of the integration between government agencies to enhance compliance and maintain public order.

Supervisory campaigns

Jeddah Municipality affirmed the continuation of supervisory campaigns in coordination with relevant authorities to monitor and prevent violators, address informal vending sites, thereby contributing to improving quality of life, preserving the urban landscape, protecting public health, and creating a safe and organized environment for residents and visitors. The municipality called on residents to cooperate and report informal vending and violations through official channels to reduce these violations and enhance compliance.
