Eastern Region Attracts Visitors with Over 1,000 Parks and Integrated Gardens
The Eastern Region boasts over 980 parks, 18 gardens, 14 corniches and 213 walking tracks, attracting visitors and improving quality of life in line with Vision 2030.
Parks and green spaces are a key pillar in boosting tourism appeal and improving quality of life. They go beyond being natural outlets to become integrated recreational destinations that attract families and visitors, adding a sustainable aesthetic and environmental dimension to cities. In this context, the Eastern Region Municipality continues its intensive efforts to expand green areas and enhance the urban landscape through a set of development projects, in line with the goals of the Quality of Life Program and Saudi Vision 2030.
The municipality stated that the Eastern Region includes over 980 public parks and squares, 18 gardens, 14 corniches and waterfronts, in addition to 213 walking tracks, as part of a system of projects and initiatives aimed at increasing green space, improving the quality of public services and facilities, in line with the goals of the Quality of Life Program.
It pointed out that Al Khobar Governorate includes 100 parks, Dhahran city 76 parks, Al Baida Governorate 10 parks, while the number of parks in central Dammam is 50, eastern Dammam 88 parks, and western Dammam 85 parks, in addition to 45 parks under construction in Dammam city.
It drew attention that park and green space projects take into account the application of modern design standards that meet the needs of various segments of society, by providing spaces for entertainment and relaxation, and facilities for sports and social activities, thereby enhancing the environmental and aesthetic aspects within residential neighborhoods, making them attractive destinations for individuals and families.
The Eastern Region Municipality affirmed its continued implementation of development projects aimed at improving public facilities, increasing green spaces, and enhancing the urban landscape, thereby promoting environmental sustainability and raising the level of services provided to residents and visitors.
