Taif Municipality Prepares 120 Parks and Gardens to Welcome Summer Visitors
The Taif Municipality announced that over 120 parks, gardens, municipal squares, and walking tracks across the governorate and tourist sites are fully prepared, coinciding with the start of the summer tourist season, during which the city is witnessing a large influx of visitors from various regions of the Kingdom and Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as well as Umrah performers wishing to visit its archaeological and tourist sites.
The recreational sites include an integrated system of services and facilities, including open sports fields, children's play areas, walking paths, family seating areas, and vast green spaces, supported by parking lots, public restrooms, and aesthetic elements that enhance the visitor experience.
The municipality's operational plans include continuous field monitoring of parks and gardens, carrying out periodic maintenance work, and addressing observations as soon as they are detected, ensuring the sustainability of service quality throughout the summer season.
Development of Sports Squares
The Taif Municipality has enhanced municipal squares with additional facilities to accommodate youth activities and programs, and carried out comprehensive maintenance work on sports fields and tracks across the governorate and its affiliated centers. These squares provide football, volleyball, and basketball courts, as well as dedicated walking and jogging tracks, spectator stands, and various support facilities.
The municipality also upgraded the rehabilitation of municipal squares by installing high-quality artificial turf and rubber flooring, as part of its efforts to humanize the city and improve the urban landscape, opening these squares to all ages for individual and group sports.
Future Projects
The municipality intends to implement new projects serving young men and women in the coming period, to keep pace with urban and population growth, and to provide an attractive environment that meets the needs and hobbies of community members. The teams of the General Administration of Parks and Environmental Architecture continue to implement the comprehensive maintenance and rehabilitation plan in successive stages, including maintenance of service networks, preparation of fences, treatment of lighting poles, replacement of damaged flooring, and verification of the safety of electrical extensions and entry and exit gates.
Private Sector Participation
The Taif Municipality has opened the door for investors to participate in developing tourism services by establishing resorts, rural lodges, and investing in farms to provide exceptional experiences for visitors. The private sector has also provided facilities for picnics, shopping, and entertainment at various levels, in addition to destinations dedicated to adventure enthusiasts and overland trips in Taif Safari.
The municipality coordinates with its partners in various sectors to welcome thousands of visitors and tourists, given Taif’s diverse attractions, most notably the picturesque nature in the heights of Al-Shafa and Al-Hada, the moderate climate, and the variety of destinations, activities, and events that suit all tastes and ages, enhancing its status as a prominent tourist destination in line with the goals of Vision 2030.
