The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture office in Makkah, represented by the Non-Profit Sector and Agricultural Solutions Department, implemented a tree-planting initiative at the West Mecca slaughterhouse, during which 740 seedlings were planted, as part of its efforts to enhance vegetation cover, improve the surrounding environment, and support the targets of the Saudi Green Initiative.

The initiative aims to expand green spaces and create a more sustainable environment within the facilities, in addition to raising environmental awareness and encouraging community participation in implementing environmental initiatives.

The Director of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture office in Makkah, Engineer Ghaleb bin Yahya Hamazi, explained that this step comes as part of a series of initiatives implemented by the ministry to develop vegetation cover and enhance environmental sustainability.

He pointed out that such efforts contribute to improving the quality of life and strengthen the community's role in protecting the environment and preserving natural resources, in line with the targets of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
