Makkah Environment Launches Campaign to Recycle Clothes and Shoes for 3 Weeks
The branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Makkah region, represented by the Non-Profit Sector and Agricultural Solutions Department and the Support Services Department, launched a campaign titled 'Recycle Your Clothes Today for a Sustainable Impact', in cooperation with 'Kiswa Plus', as part of its efforts to promote sustainable environmental practices and reduce waste.
The campaign was inaugurated by the Assistant Director General for Support and Empowerment, Engineer Hani bin Hammoud Al-Maimouni, with the participation of staff from both departments and male and female volunteers. The campaign extends over three weeks and includes collecting clothes, shoes, and handbags for the purpose of recycling and benefiting from them.
The Director General of the branch, Engineer Waleed bin Ibrahim Al Dughais, affirmed that the initiative reflects the Ministry's keenness to support sustainable environmental practices and encourage community participation in initiatives aimed at reducing waste and promoting a culture of recycling, thus contributing to achieving environmental sustainability targets within the goals of Vision 2030.
