The Eastern Region Municipality has installed 1,726 lighting poles on streets and waterfronts in Khafji Governorate as part of its development projects aimed at improving the urban landscape and enhancing quality of life in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.

Official spokesperson for the Eastern Region Municipality, Faisal Al-Zahrani, confirmed that the work carried out by the Khafji Governorate Municipality included the installation and rehabilitation of these poles in vital locations, squares, and walking tracks, noting that these projects are an extension of the municipality's efforts to develop infrastructure and improve quality of life by creating a safe urban environment.

Al-Zahrani explained that the work included the installation of 290 lighting poles, 12 meters in height, in important locations, most notably King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Road, King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Road, and the waterfront. He added that the scope of work also included the installation of 42 poles, 9 meters in height, on the governorate's sandy beach. The official spokesperson revealed the installation of 1,164 lighting poles, 8 meters in height, covering walking tracks in the Salam and Al-Shati neighborhoods, the northern entrance to the governorate, and main roads. He noted that this category also covered Al-Jawhara and King Fahd parks, Al-Safaniya Center, and the cultural center.

Beautification of public facilities

He pointed out the installation of 131 poles, 4 meters in height, on the sports walking track in Al-Shati neighborhood and Al-Janadriyah Square. He explained that 101 poles, 3 meters and 1 meter in height, were provided to support lighting on the sandy beach and beautify public facilities.

Al-Zahrani emphasized that the municipality continues to implement its development programs to raise the efficiency of municipal services, in line with the goals of humanizing cities and enhancing the urban environment. He noted that field teams are continuously monitoring work progress to ensure projects are carried out according to the highest quality and technical efficiency standards.
