On Wednesday, the UAE strongly condemned the Houthi statements towards Saudi Arabia, including threats to ban maritime navigation on the Kingdom.

A statement by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to ensure the implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly resolutions 2216 on Yemen and 2722 on the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.

The statement stressed that freedom of navigation in international waterways is a right guaranteed by international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, affirming the UAE's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for everything that preserves its security.
