Currently, the only topic of discussion in Hail's gatherings is the imminent launch of the central area project, which is nearing completion after continuous phases of work and relentless follow-up by the Hail Municipality on the progress, monitoring advancements in the development works of the central area project and the integration of efforts among all parties to achieve urban development goals and improve the quality of life in Hail. The project takes into account the human and aesthetic dimensions in revitalizing tourism and economic activity in the city center, as it is located in the heart of Hail within the jurisdiction of the Central Municipality, on an area exceeding 700,000 square meters, surrounded by several vital streets including Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Street (1 km long, 27 m wide), Afnan Street (480 m long, 10-15 m wide), King Faisal Street (2 km long, 22 m wide), and Riyadh Street (1.4 km long, 20 m wide). The project includes the implementation of an integrated set of infrastructure and service facilities, comprising site preparation, foundation layers and asphalt works, paving units using concrete slabs, sidewalks and curbs, as well as modern lighting networks, smart irrigation systems, underground tanks, in addition to landscaping and green spaces, traffic organization, public safety, rainwater drainage, public restrooms, and locations for cafes, restaurants, and kiosks within the central square, alongside an open-air theater, seating areas and green open spaces for families, a dedicated children's play area, and a dancing fountains area. This reflects a comprehensive plan to create an integrated community environment that meets the needs of all groups. It also includes directly linking Afnan Street to the central area, and updating the commercial market after development to enhance the integration of economic, tourism, and service activities in the heart of the city, under the supervision of specialized engineering and technical teams from the Hail Municipality to follow up on all implementation stages and ensure the application of the highest quality standards and integration between urban, aesthetic, and service aspects. This represents a pioneering step adopted by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing in achieving a balance between sustainable urban development and improving the living conditions of residents, and demonstrates the municipality's commitment to developing the urban landscape and upgrading services, in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership and the Kingdom's Vision 2030, in building prosperous and integrated Saudi cities that are attractive for living, work, and investment.
