The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has made the issuance of occupancy certificates available electronically via the 'Balady' platform, as part of its efforts to develop municipal services, simplify procedures, and improve the experience of beneficiaries through integrated digital solutions. The ministry explained that the certificate issuance is carried out in six steps: starting with logging into the 'Balady' platform through the unified national access, then selecting the occupancy certificate issuance service and updating the owner and application data, followed by selecting the building permit for which the certificate is to be issued, sending the application to the accredited engineering office to prepare the technical report, then reviewing and approving the application by the municipality, and finally paying the invoice and issuing the occupancy certificate electronically. The ministry emphasized that the service allows easy completion of procedures without the need to visit municipal offices, which enhances the speed of transaction processing and improves the quality of digital services provided to citizens and beneficiaries, within the targets of digital transformation and improving the efficiency of municipal services.
