His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the Royal Palace in Jeddah this evening. An official reception was held, followed by a formal session of talks. At the outset, the Crown Prince welcomed the Canadian Prime Minister to the Kingdom, while Mr. Carney expressed his pleasure at the visit and meeting. During the session, they reviewed bilateral relations, areas of cooperation, and opportunities for development across various sectors, as well as regional and international developments and related efforts. The Crown Prince and the Canadian Prime Minister also witnessed the exchange of several bilateral memoranda of understanding: First, a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Natural Resources of Canada in the field of energy, exchanged by Saudi Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand. Second, a memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of Canada on the establishment of the Saudi-Canadian Coordination Council, which will serve as a platform for implementing the joint work document between the two countries, representing a roadmap for the next phase of Saudi-Canadian relations, exchanged by Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand. Third, a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Communications of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Industry of Canada on investment in artificial intelligence and skills development, exchanged by Saudi Chairman of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi and Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand.
