Crown Prince Reviews Regional and International Developments with Canadian Prime Minister

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received at the Royal Court at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Thursday evening Canadian Prime Minister Mr. Mark Carney, where an official reception ceremony was held for him, and then they held an official talks session.
At the beginning of the session, His Highness the Crown Prince welcomed the Prime Minister of Canada to the Kingdom, while His Excellency expressed his happiness with this visit and meeting His Highness the Crown Prince.
During the session, aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries, areas of cooperation and opportunities for their development in various sectors were reviewed, in addition to reviewing the latest regional and international developments and efforts being made regarding them.
His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister of Canada also witnessed the exchange ceremony of a number of bilateral memoranda of understanding, which are:
First: A memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom and the Ministry of Natural Resources of Canada in the field of energy, exchanged on the Saudi side by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, and on the Canadian side by Her Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Ms. Anita Anand.
Second: A memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of Canada regarding the establishment of the Saudi-Canadian Coordination Council, which will be a platform for implementing the contents of the joint work document between the two countries that represents a roadmap for the next phase of Saudi-Canadian relations, exchanged on the Saudi side by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and on the Canadian side by Her Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Ms. Anita Anand.
Third: A memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Communications of the Kingdom and the Ministry of Industry of Canada regarding investment in artificial intelligence and skills development, exchanged on the Saudi side by His Excellency the President of the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, and on the Canadian side by Her Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Ms. Anita Anand.
Attending the talks session were: His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy; His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region; His Royal Highness Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Minister of the National Guard; His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense; His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs; His Excellency the Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet, National Security Advisor, Dr. Musaad bin Mohammed Al-Aiban; His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan (accompanying minister); and the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Canada, Amal bint Yahya Al-Moalemi.
From the Canadian side, attending were: His Excellency the Minister of Finance and National Revenue, Mr. François-Philippe Champagne; Her Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Anita Anand; His Excellency the Minister of National Defence, Mr. David McGuinty; the Ambassador of Canada to the Kingdom, Jean-Philippe Linteau; Member of Parliament, Mr. Samir Zuberi; the Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, Mr. Marc-André Blanchard; the Advisor for Foreign Policy and Defence to the Privy Council, Ms. Jennifer May; the Chief Executive Officer of the Defence Investment Agency, Mr. Doug Gozman; and the Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security Policy, Mr. Scott Gilmour.
