Al-Baha, 24 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to July 9, 2026 AD (SPA) – His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Housing Affairs, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, today visited the Al-Baha region, during which he reviewed the progress of municipal and housing projects and development programs, witnessed the inauguration of several completed municipal and housing projects, laid the foundation stones for new projects with total investments exceeding SAR 1.67 billion, in addition to handing over housing units to beneficiaries of developmental housing. The municipal projects included the inauguration of completed projects worth SAR 464 million, along with laying the foundation stones for new projects worth SAR 873.5 million, including roads, sidewalks, lighting, flood control, parks and gardens, and municipal facilities, contributing to infrastructure development and raising the quality of services provided to residents and visitors. In the housing sector, His Excellency witnessed the inauguration of completed housing projects worth SAR 185.7 million, including the Talal Al-Mafarja project and developmental housing projects in Baljurashi and Qalwah governorates, in addition to laying the foundation stones for new housing projects worth SAR 150 million under off-plan sales projects, supporting the increase in housing supply and enabling families to own homes. His Excellency also witnessed the inauguration of 16 municipal investment projects with total revenues of SAR 284 million, the handover of 19 housing units to beneficiaries of developmental housing programs, and honored a number of major donors participating in the Joud Al-Iskan campaign for the year 1447 AH. During the visit, His Excellency chaired a meeting with the leadership of the Al-Baha Region Municipality to follow up on performance indicators and achievement levels. He also met with a number of citizens, listened to their needs and demands, and met with investors and businessmen to discuss investment opportunities in the municipal and housing sectors. His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Housing Affairs visited a number of qualitative investment and tourism projects, most notably the Raghadan Tourist Resort "Sira", supported by the Tourism Development Fund in partnership with Sira Holding Group, and the "Rotana Edge" Hotel, supported by the Tourism Development Fund, in addition to the "Al-Baha Plaza" project, spanning an area of over 9,000 square meters, the "Makamaya" tourist accommodation project, and the "Qamra – Honey Garden" project developed by Asfar Saudi Tourism Investment Company, one of the companies of the Public Investment Fund. His Excellency also inspected the readiness of the Emergency and Crisis Center at the Al-Baha Region Municipality after the full operation of its new headquarters, emphasizing the importance of developing the emergency system and raising the efficiency of response to emergency situations to enhance the readiness of the municipal sector to deal with various circumstances.
