Education and Industry Ministers Launch 'Summer of Mawhiba' in 19 Cities Inside and Outside the Kingdom
His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Youssef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, and His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, along with a number of Their Excellencies, today launched 'Summer of Mawhiba,' organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity 'Mawhiba,' and implemented in 19 cities inside and outside the Kingdom, in cooperation with an elite group of academic and research institutions.
Participating in the launch were His Excellency the Acting Governor of the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, Dr. Munir bin Mahmoud Al-Dusouqi; His Excellency the Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority, Eng. Majid bin Mohammed Al-Mazed; His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti; and His Royal Highness Prince Nawaf bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, CEO of the Architecture and Design Arts Authority.
The 'Summer of Mawhiba' includes a package of enrichment and scientific programs, comprising the Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program, the Mawhiba Research Enrichment Program, the Mawhiba Global Enrichment Program, the Mawhiba Ambassadors Program, the Electronic Game Development Program, and other technical programs, across four specialized tracks: human health, leadership in energy and industry, environmental sustainability and basic needs, and future economies, in line with national priorities for research, development, and innovation.
His Excellency the Minister of Education explained that 'Summer of Mawhiba' represents a qualitative path to enrich the knowledge of gifted students and develop their skills in stimulating educational environments, through 88 enrichment units implemented inside and outside the Kingdom for more than 12,000 gifted male and female students, noting that these programs reflect the effective partnership between the Ministry of Education, 'Mawhiba', and relevant entities in preparing a creative and competitive generation in the fields of science and knowledge.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the 'Mawhiba' Foundation, Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Kuraidis, appreciated the launch of 'Summer of Mawhiba' by Their Excellencies, stressing that this step reflects the integration of national efforts in nurturing and empowering the gifted, and embodies the interest of national sectors in providing high-quality educational and knowledge environments that contribute to preparing a creative and competitive generation capable of contributing to development paths and future fields.
Al-Kuraidis stated that 'Summer of Mawhiba' represents a new milestone in the foundation's journey to invest in promising minds, through a system of specialized programs linked to national priority paths, and implemented in partnership with 53 academic and research institutions and specialized educational entities in the Kingdom, Japan, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom.
The 'Summer of Mawhiba' comes as an extension of the integration of national efforts to nurture and empower gifted students, through specialized programs that contribute to developing their abilities, enriching their knowledge, and enhancing their readiness to compete in global scientific forums, in addition to providing educational and cognitive experiences that strengthen their presence in future fields, in line with national priority paths.
