"Environment" calls for rationalizing water consumption in summer
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture called on community members to enhance awareness of the importance of water and its conservation, and to rationalize its consumption, coinciding with rising temperatures during the summer and increased demand for water.
The ministry stressed the importance of tightly closing water taps.
The ministry explained that responsible use of this vital resource contributes to preserving and developing water resources, promoting sustainable water management, and achieving water security, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
It pointed out that rationalizing water consumption can be achieved by adopting many important daily behaviors that contribute to maximizing its use, such as repairing water leaks and reporting them as soon as they are discovered, using water-saving devices, which helps reduce waste, in addition to ensuring taps are tightly closed after use, and using modern irrigation methods like drip irrigation, which play a role in increasing water use efficiency and reducing loss.
The ministry emphasized that conserving water resources and rationalizing their consumption is a shared responsibility that requires strengthening efforts by all members of society and government, private, and non-profit sectors to raise awareness of optimal use and adopt rational behaviors in water consumption, thereby supporting water security, maximizing its benefit, preserving natural resources, and ensuring sustainability for future generations.
